2009 - Reflection

Wow, I can't believe 2009 is almost gone. The page a day calendar that seemed to be full and new just a while ago is done, a new one taking its place. It's been a year of ups and downs. As I reflect back on this, I'm very thankful for the loved ones in my life. I'm thankful for the new employment that has reignited my spark on work. I'm thankful to be able to go to the train club in Coshocton and time really hasn't moved forward (I can be the 13 year old that started there long ago).

I am thankful that 2010 is here. I have this theory that even numbered years for me are just "better".

In 2009 I had to say goodbye to Phil (my dog), my uncle Joe, and my great friend Debbie. They were all taken before their time. In 2009, I said goodbye to ADS, but I said hello to HLS. What a great change it's been! My new team is a group of super high performers. What an awesome feeling to be not amongst co-workers, but great friends.

And, as this year wraps up, I hope justice prevails for those who haven't been heard, the hungry are fed, and peace comes to all.

As 2010 is ushered in, 1995 comes back to me. I'm listening to Sirius radio as I write this. They have a mix that would make DJ Swaggerty proud (remember Hot Peppers anyone)? Channel 22 for those of you who would like to listen.

Have a safe night everyone!

Holidays

Well, it is that time of year.

I, first, must say, that the Holiday's bring out interesting behaviors. Maybe it's the stress of buying presents, family or terrible football teams (yes, I am a Browns fan).

My son is excited. He thinks he's getting Buzz Lightyear for Christmas. Well, he is. He loves the Toy Story movies, so this is very fitting! Speaking of Noah, he really enjoyed Halloween. He was yelling from down the street about his "haul" of candy in his pumpkin. So, last week, a group of Girl Scouts came by to sing Frosty the Snowman. They were dressed up in festive outfits. Well, Noah saw this and kept yelling he wanted to "grab" his pumpkin and go trick or treating with the Girl Scouts. "Dad, I'm going with them". Too funny. Being 2 1/2 must be awesome!

For you music lovers out there, especially guitar freaks, there is a movie coming on DVD called "It Might Get Loud". This features the Edge, Jimmy Paige, and Jack White. Highly recommended for those who enjoy edgy guitar. I got to see it on the big screen! Can't wait to get this on DVD.

Stay safe, and have a great night!
